This article will explain what CBD is, what each one does, and its effects on the body. I will also touch on terpenes and the entourage effect. 

Terpenes are essential because Terpenes and the entourage effect play a crucial part in determining the outcome of the CBD product.

So, let’s get started, shall we?


There are two main types of CBD. Full-spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate. CBD is short for cannabidiol and is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.

A cannabinoid is a class of active compounds that interact with receptors throughout your body. These receptors make up the endocannabinoid system, which helps to regulate many different functions, including mood, appetite, pain, and inflammation.

Full-spectrum CBD products are thought to work by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which helps to regulate various functions in the body, including pain, inflammation, and anxiety.

Full-spectrum CBD oil is popular among those who want the medicinal benefits of CBD along with the other cannabinoids and plant compounds. It is also popular among those subject to drug testing, as it will not cause a positive test for THC.

The main benefit of full-spectrum CBD oil is that it provides the entourage effect.


The entourage effect is when different cannabinoids and plant compounds work together to produce a more beneficial impact than they would on their own. 

While CBD can be beneficial, it is more effective when used with other compounds found in cannabis. It’s believed that the entourage effect is responsible for the plant’s various medical benefits, including its ability to treat chronic pain, anxiety, and inflammation.


Terpenes are the compounds that give cannabis and other plants their unique smell. There are over 100 different types of terpenes in cannabis, and when it comes to the entourage effect, terpenes play an essential role. Working with other cannabinoids like CBD and THC to make them more effective, terpenes can increase the body’s absorption of CBD and THC and increase the plant’s overall potency.

The terpene profile can vary depending on the strain, the growing environment, and even the harvest time, which means that Each type has its unique benefits. For example, some terpenes increase focus while others promote relaxation.

Knowing the terpene profile of a cannabis strain is essential when looking for a full-spectrum CBD oil product. Some brands focus on themes with high levels of specific terpenes, as they believe they are most beneficial for therapeutic purposes.


The jury is still out regarding the effectiveness of full-spectrum CBD versus CBD isolate. Some people find that full-spectrum CBD works better, while others find CBD isolate is more effective. However, many people and some healthcare professionals believe that full-spectrum CBD is more effective than CBD isolate because it provides the “entourage effect.”
